HES locations and our network in Germany

With our powerful network, we deliver furniture, large electrical appliances, and other heavy goods to more than five million private households in Germany and neighboring countries every year. We provide a reliable, fast, and customer-oriented service nationwide.

Headquarters in Löhne – 100% climate-neutral

Our corporate headquarters is located in Löhne, Westphalia. Approximately 230 employees manage our logistical processes in Germany and neighboring countries from here. Sustainability was a key focus during the construction of the modern administrative building. Heating and cooling are operated through geothermal energy, lighting is consistently done using LED technology, and all materials used were selected based on sustainable production and recyclability according to the guidelines of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).

Comprehensive depot network

Key to our comprehensive and high-performance level of service and quality, even on the last mile, are long-term partnerships with our approximately 50 depot partners in Germany. Other quality features include qualified and regularly trained staff and very low turnover. The depots are managed by independent entrepreneurs who bring years of experience from the furniture logistics or moving industry.

Two large logistics centers in Germany

Our two new main logistics center in Germany, which we opened in 2016 and 2020, are among the most modern and largest centers in Germany. Located in the north of North Rhine-Westphalia (Löhne) and in western Bavaria (Ansbach near Nuremberg), these sites are strategically located hubs for the integration into our logistics process and the distribution to our comprehensive depot network.

Our logistics center in Löhne, Westphalia, with 100,000 m² of hall space, is one of the largest logistics centers in North Rhine-Westphalia. Every day, we load over 200 trucks with up to 30,000 pieces of furniture and large items and send them to our depots in Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. Opened in 2016, the state-of-the-art facility specializes in the logistical handling of furniture and large electrical appliances.

In collaboration with Hermes Fulfilment, we operate the logistics center. Hermes Fulfilment is responsible for warehousing, while Hermes Einrichtungs Service manages the goods handling. This accelerates internal processes and allows us to offer retailers even better 2-man-handling service. The environment also benefits: by combining warehousing and goods handling, we save around 300 tons of CO2 annually.

Our range of services at the location also includes returns management: on 20,000 m² of space, items returned by customers are inspected, refurbished, or repaired by Hermes Fulfilment colleagues and then re-stored.

In 2020, we opened our second Hermes logistics center in the Ansbach-West industrial park near Nuremberg, another state-of-the-art location. On a total area of 76,000 m², goods for our clients are stored and handled.

Logistics location in Mosina near Poznań, Poland

In the 90,000 m² logistics center near Poznań, in the heart of the Polish furniture industry, up to 500,000 m³ of furniture, beds, and white goods from Eastern European furniture suppliers are delivered, stored, and handled annually. The deliveries and shipments per day are consolidated and directly forwarded to our depots for end customer delivery. This offers significant advantages, including reduced transportation costs, improved flexibility and transparency in the flow of goods, and shorter lead times between manufacturers and end customers.

We also deliver beyond Germany’s borders

Our network extends far beyond the borders of Germany. With our extensive European 2-man-handling network, we deliver to Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland in well-established partnerships.
