We live diversity.

Our diversity, which we actively embrace, promotes creative, fast, and innovative progress. This helps us to stay competitive in an ever-changing environment. We align ourselves with the “Charter of Diversity,” the largest initiative by employers to promote diversity in German companies. In this way, we create an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and appreciation, and experience the positive impact on our company on a daily basis.

The individuality of each person enriches the diversity at Hermes Einrichtungs Service (HES). In a constantly changing society where needs shift and new demands arise in everyday life and in the workplace, we see this (new) diversity as an opportunity that needs to be embraced. By collectively bringing our unique qualities, we create a diversity that enables us to bring about positive changes. The world is evolving, and we are evolving with it.

At HES, we firmly believe that diversity fosters creative, fast, and innovative progress. We believe that diversity creates spaces where everyone can live their authentic personality, feel fully accepted, and therefore work more effectively. That is why diversity is essential for us to remain competitive amidst societal and economic changes.

In our daily interactions, collaboration between different generations from diverse countries and with various religious backgrounds is as natural as gender equality and the equal treatment of gender identities. It is important for us not only to accept the individual personality of each person but also to promote and challenge them beyond that.

What is the “Charter of Diversity”?

The “Charter of Diversity” is a charter of the same-named employer initiative for the promotion of diversity, which was established to recognize and include diversity in companies and politics. The goal of the initiative is to ensure that all employees – regardless of age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and worldview, sexual orientation, and social background – experience appreciation in a non-prejudiced work environment.

This is how we live the Charter of Diversity.

At Hermes Einrichtungs Service, we all strive to cultivate a corporate culture characterized by mutual respect and appreciation. We place great importance on creating the foundations for both leaders and employees to recognize, share, and embody these values in their daily actions. We see a particular commitment in them.

To ensure that our personnel processes meet the diverse abilities and talents of all employees while also meeting our high performance standards, we will regularly review and optimize them.

We acknowledge the diversity within and outside our organization and appreciate the potential it holds. We want to use this diversity to benefit the company.

We will actively integrate the contents of the Charter regarding internal and external dialogue into our corporate practices. We aim to report transparently and openly on our activities as well as the progress made in promoting and appreciating diversity, communicating this publicly on an annual basis.

It is important to us to continuously inform our workforce about the added value of diversity and actively involve them in the implementation of the Charter. This is to ensure that the principles of the Charter not only exist on paper but are firmly embedded in our daily work life.

Human rights as the cornerstone of our actions!

Every country has its own culture, and therefore values and rules are not always the same. However, one thing they should all have in common is the respect for human rights. But what does that actually mean?

In 1948, the United Nations (UN) adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which includes, among other things, the right to freedom of thought, religion, and expression for every individual. We believe that companies play an important role in upholding human rights – and of course, this applies to Hermes Einrichtungs Service as well. For over 25 years, we have been committed to this cause together with the Otto Group.

“Responsible commerce that inspires” is the vision that guides us. Ensuring respect for rights not only within our own ranks but also in our dealings with suppliers, partners, and beyond is unquestionable for us and is part of our conviction to act economically, socially, and environmentally sustainably. To ensure respect for human rights along the entire value chain, the requirements are summarized in the Business Partner Declaration and the aforementioned Code of Conduct (see gray box).
